22 Straks instruerte Jesus disiplene om å gå i båten og dra i forveien til den andre siden, mens Han sendte folkemengden bort.

23 Etter at Han hadde sendt dem bort, gikk Han opp på fjellet for seg selv for å be. Da kvelden kom, var Han der alene,

men båten var allerede et godt stykke fra land, slått av bølgene fordi vinden var imot.

25 I den fjerde nattevakt kom Jesus ut til dem, gående på sjøen.

26 Da disiplene så Ham gå på sjøen, ble de skrekkslagne og sa: "Det er et spøkelse!" og ropte av frykt.
