11 Se, Herrens, hele jordens Herres, paktsark går foran dere inn i Jordan.

12 Velg nå ut tolv menn fra Israels stammer, én mann fra hver stamme.

Og det skal skje, så snart føttene til prestene som bærer Herrens, hele jordens Herres, ark hviler i Jordans vann, vil vannet som flyter nedstrøms bli avskåret og stå som en haug.”

14 Da folket brøt opp fra sine telt for å krysse Jordan, med prestene som bar paktsarken foran dem,

15 og da prestene som bar arken nådde Jordan og føttene deres dyppet i vannkanten (for Jordan flommer over alle sine bredder under innhøstingen),
