20 De som gjør ondt, unngår lyset, i frykt for at deres gjerninger skal bli avslørt.

21 Men den som praktiserer sannheten, kommer til lyset, så det kan bli tydelig at det de har gjort, er gjort i Guds nærvær.

Etter dette dro Jesus og hans disipler til Judeas landsbygd, hvor han tilbrakte tid med dem og døpte.

23 Nå døpte også Johannes ved Aenon nær Salim, fordi det var mye vann der, og folk kom og ble døpt.
