Jesaja 14,26

24 Herren, Allhærs Gud, har sverget: "Sannelig, som jeg har planlagt, slik vil det bli, og som jeg har bestemt, slik vil det stå.

25 Jeg vil knuse assyreren i mitt land; på mine fjell vil jeg trampe ham ned. Hans åk vil bli fjernet fra mitt folk, og hans byrde fra deres skuldre."

Dette er planen utarbeidet mot hele jorden; dette er hånden strukket ut over alle nasjonene.

27 For Herren, Allhærs Gud, har bestemt, og hvem kan hindre det? Hans hånd er strukket ut, og hvem kan vende den tilbake?
