Babylon
Judgment

52 Deres buer vil slakte de unge mennene; De vil ikke ha noen nåde for livmors frukt; Deres øyne vil ikke ha medlidenhet med barn.

53 «‘Og Babylon skal bli en haug i ørkenen, Et tørt land og en villmark, Et land der ingen mann bor eller passerer gjennom.

«‘Jeg vil gi gjengjeldelse til Babylon og til alle innbyggerne i Kaldea For all deres ondskap som de har gjort i Sion i ditt syn,’ Erklærer Herren.

55 Dere som har unnsluppet kaldeernes sverd, Seil bort for å bo hos dem, Og grav ned i jorden deres plagg, Skjul det fra undertrykkerens ansikt.

56 For Herren har utpekt en dag Av hevn—Han har harme over Babylon; Og kraften til hennes drepte vil falle i hennes midte.
