De spurte: «Hvilken av Israels stammer kom ikke opp til Herren i Mispa?» De fant ut at ingen fra Jabesj-Gilead hadde kommet til leiren for forsamlingen.
9 Da folket ble talt, var det ikke en eneste av innbyggerne i Jabesj-Gilead der.
10 Så sendte forsamlingen tolv tusen tapre krigere med instruks om å slå innbyggerne i Jabesj-Gilead med sverd, inkludert kvinner og barn.
