33 Alle Israels menn flyttet fra sine posisjoner og tok opp posisjoner ved Ba'al-Tamar, og det israelske bakholdet stormet ut fra Ma'areh-Geva.

34 Ti tusen av Israels utvalgte menn satte i gang et frontalangrep på Gibea. Kampen var intens, og benjaminittene innså ikke at katastrofen var nær.

Herren beseiret Benjamin foran Israel, og israelittene slo ned 25 100 benjaminitter den dagen, alle bevæpnet med sverd.

36 Benjaminittene så at de var beseiret. Israels menn hadde gitt vei foran Benjamin fordi de stolte på bakholdet de hadde satt nær Gibea.

37 De som lå i bakholdet, stormet inn i Gibea, spredte seg ut, og satte hele byen under sverd.
