Darius

29 Etter Belsasars befaling ble Daniel kledd i purpur, en gullkjede ble lagt om hans hals, og han ble erklært den tredje høyeste herskeren i riket.

30 Samme natt ble Belsasar, kaldeerkongen, drept.

Og Dareios, mederen, overtok riket, da han var sekstito år gammel.
