14 Så han samtykket til dette og testet dem i ti dager.
15 Ved slutten av de ti dagene så de sunnere og bedre ut enn noen av de unge mennene som spiste kongens utvalgte mat.
Så vakten fortsatte å holde tilbake deres utvalgte mat og vin, og ga dem grønnsaker i stedet.
17 Til disse fire unge mennene ga Gud kunnskap og forståelse i alle slags litteratur og lærdom; Daniel forstod også alle slags syner og drømmer.
18 Ved slutten av den tiden som kongen hadde satt for å bringe dem inn i sin tjeneste, presenterte lederen for tjenestemennene dem for Nebukadnesar.
