31 Da Moses så det, undret han seg over synet. Da han nærmet seg for å observere nærmere, kom Herrens røst til ham:

32 ‘Jeg er dine forfedres Gud, Abrahams, Isaks og Jakobs Gud.’ Moses skalv av frykt og våget ikke å se.

Da instruerte Herren ham: ‘Ta av deg sandalene, for stedet du står på er hellig grunn.

34 Jeg har virkelig sett mitt folks undertrykkelse i Egypt, og jeg har hørt deres sukk. Jeg har kommet ned for å befri dem. Nå kom, jeg vil sende deg tilbake til Egypt.’

35 «Denne Moses som de avviste, og sa: ‘Hvem har satt deg til hersker og dommer?’ er den Gud sendte som både hersker og befrier, med hjelp av engelen som viste seg for ham i busken.
