26 «Fra Claudius Lysias, til den ærede guvernør Feliks: Hilsen.

27 Denne mannen ble tatt av jødene og var i ferd med å bli drept av dem, men jeg grep inn med troppene og reddet ham, etter å ha fått vite at han er romersk borger.

Ønsker å fastslå grunnlaget for anklagene mot ham, førte jeg ham til deres Råd.

29 Jeg oppdaget at han ble anklaget over spørsmål om deres lov, men hadde ingen anklage som fortjente død eller fengsel.

30 Da jeg ble informert om en sammensvergelse mot ham, sendte jeg ham straks til deg, og beordret hans anklagere å presentere sin sak mot ham for deg.»
