4 Dine klær ble ikke utslitt, og dine føtter hovnet ikke opp i disse førti årene.

5 Forstå da i ditt hjerte at Herren din Gud tukter deg slik en mann tukter sin sønn.

Derfor, hold Herrens din Guds bud, for å vandre på Hans veier og frykte Ham.

7 For Herren din Gud fører deg inn i et godt land, et land med bekker, kilder og vannårer, som flyter fram i daler og på høyder;

8 et land rikt på hvete og bygg, vinstokker, fikentrær og granatepler, rikt på olivenolje og honning;
