4 Når dere krysser Jordan, sett opp disse steinene på Ebal-fjellet, slik jeg befaler dere i dag, og dekk dem med kalk.

5 Bygg et alter for Herren deres Gud der, laget av steiner, og unngå å bruke noe jernverktøy på dem.

Bygg alteret for Herren deres Gud med uhugde steiner og ofre brennoffer på det til Herren deres Gud.

7 Frembær fellesskapsofre der, ta del i dem og gled dere i Herrens deres Guds nærvær.

8 Skriv meget tydelig alle ordene i denne loven på steinene dere har satt opp.
