6 "Av byene dere gir til levittene, utpek seks som tilfluktsbyer, hvor noen som har begått drap kan flykte. I tillegg skal dere gi førtito andre byer.
I alt skal dere gi førtifire byer til levittene, sammen med deres beitemarker.
8 Byene dere gir til levittene fra israelittenes land skal være i forhold til arven til hver stamme: ta flere byer fra en stamme med større arv, og færre fra en med mindre arv."
9 Herren talte så til Moses og sa:
