15 Bileam sa til Balak: «Stå her ved ditt offer mens jeg møter Herren der borte.»

16 Herren møtte Bileam og la et ord i hans munn, og sa: «Vend tilbake til Balak og gi ham denne beskjeden.»

Bileam vendte tilbake til Balak, som sto ved sitt offer sammen med Moabs ledere. Balak spurte: «Hva har Herren talt?»

18 Bileam leverte sitt budskap: «Reis deg, Balak, og lytt; hør meg, Sippors sønn.

19 Gud er ikke et menneske, så Han skulle lyve, heller ikke et menneskesønn, så Han skulle skifte mening. Sier Han noe og handler ikke? Lover Han noe og oppfyller det ikke?
