Levi

47 Levis stamme ble imidlertid ikke talt sammen med de andre.

48 For Herren hadde talt til Moses og instruert ham,

"Du skal ikke telle Levis stamme eller inkludere dem i folketellingen av de andre israelittene.

50 I stedet skal du utnevne levittene over vitnesbyrdets tabernakel, over alle dets innredninger og alt som hører til det. De skal bære tabernaklet og alle dets innredninger; de skal ta seg av det og slå leir rundt det.

51 Når tabernaklet skal flyttes, skal levittene ta det ned, og når det skal settes opp, skal levittene gjøre det. Enhver fremmed som nærmer seg det, skal dø.
