15 men min nåde skal ikke vike fra ham, som jeg tok den bort fra Saul, som jeg fjernet fra deg.

16 Ditt hus og ditt kongedømme skal stå fast for meg i all evighet; din trone skal være trygg for alltid.’”

Natan formidlet alle disse ordene og dette synet til David.

18 Da gikk kong David inn og satte seg foran Herren, og han sa: "Hvem er jeg, Herre Gud, og hva er mitt hus, at du har ført meg så langt?

19 Likevel var dette en liten ting i dine øyne, Herre Gud, for du har også talt om din tjeners hus angående den fjerne fremtid. Og dette er menneskenes skikk, Herre Gud.
