5 Men Absalom sa: "Kall også på Husjai, arkitten, og la oss høre hva han har å si."
6 Da Husjai kom til Absalom, sa Absalom til ham: "Akitofel har talt slik. Skal vi følge hans ord? Hvis ikke, tal."
Da sa Husjai til Absalom: "Det rådet som Akitofel har gitt denne gangen er ikke godt."
8 Husjai sa videre: "Du kjenner din far og hans menn, at de er mektige, og bitre i sjelen som en bjørn som er frarøvet sine unger på marken. Dessuten er din far en ekspert i krig; han vil ikke tilbringe natten med folket.
9 Se, allerede nå gjemmer han seg i en av gropene eller på et annet sted. Og når noen av dem faller ved det første angrepet, vil den som hører det si: 'Det har vært et blodbad blant Absaloms tilhengere.'
