5 Han kjempet med ammonittenes konge og seiret over dem. Og ammonittene ga ham i løpet av det året hundre talenter sølv, ti tusen kor hvete, og ti tusen bygg. Ammonittene betalte ham også dette beløpet i det andre og tredje året.
6 Så ble Jotam mektig fordi han ordnet sine veier for Herren sin Gud.
