2. Krønikebok 24,26

24 Sannelig, arameernes hær kom med et lite antall menn; likevel overgav Herren en meget stor hær til dem, fordi de hadde forlatt Herren, deres fedres Gud. Så de utførte dom over Joasj.

25 Da de hadde forlatt ham—fordi de etterlot ham meget syk—konspirerte hans egne tjenere mot ham på grunn av blodet til presten Jojadas sønn, og de myrdet ham i hans seng. Så han døde, og de begravde ham i Davids by, men de begravde ham ikke i kongenes graver.

Disse var de som konspirerte mot ham: Sabad, sønn av en ammonittisk kvinne ved navn Sjimeat, og Jehosabad, sønn av en moabittisk kvinne ved navn Sjimrit.

27 Når det gjelder hans sønner, de mange orakler mot ham, og gjenopprettelsen av Guds hus, se, de er skrevet i traktaten i Kongenes Bok. Så ble hans sønn Amasja konge i hans sted.
