8 samt Gat, Maresja og Sif,

9 og også Adoraim, Lakisj og Aseka,

inkludert Sora, Ajalon og Hebron, som var befestede byer i Juda og i Benjamin.

11 Han styrket også festningene, utnevnte offiserer og forsynte dem med mat, olje og vin.

12 Han utstyrte hver by med skjold og spyd, og styrket dem betydelig. Dermed opprettholdt han kontrollen over Juda og Benjamin.
