22 Da Joram så Jehu, sa han, “Er det fred, Jehu?” Og han svarte, “Hvordan kan det være fred, så lenge din mor Jesabels horeliv og hennes trolldomskunster er så mange?”

23 Så vendte Joram tømmene og flyktet, og sa til Akasja, “Det er svik, Akasja!”

Da spente Jehu buen med full styrke og skjøt Joram mellom armene; og pilen gikk gjennom hans hjerte, og han sank i vognen.

25 Og Jehu sa til Bidkar, sin offiser, “Ta ham opp og kast ham på Nabots jizre'elittens mark, for husk, da du og jeg red sammen bak Ahab, hans far, uttalte Herren denne dommen mot ham:

26 ‘Sannelig, jeg har sett i går Nabots blod og hans sønners blod,’ erklærer Herren, ‘og jeg vil gjengjelde deg på denne eiendommen,’ erklærer Herren. Så nå, ta ham og kast ham på eiendommen, i samsvar med Herrens ord.”
