2. Kongebok 15,3

Amaziah

1 I det tjuesjuende året til Jeroboam, Israels konge, begynte Asarja, sønn av Amasja, Judas konge, å regjere.

2 Han var seksten år gammel da han begynte å regjere, og han regjerte i femtito år i Jerusalem; hans mor var Jekolja fra Jerusalem.

Han gjorde det som var rett i Herrens øyne, etter sin far Amasjas eksempel.

4 Men offerhaugene ble ikke fjernet; folket fortsatte å ofre og brenne røkelse på disse haugene.

5 Og Herren rammet kongen, slik at han ble spedalsk til den dagen han døde. Han bodde i et eget hus, mens Jotam, kongens sønn, styrte husholdningen, og dømte folket i landet.
