22 Mens Israel bodde i det landet, gikk Ruben og lå med sin fars medhustru Bilha, og Israel fikk høre om det. Nå hadde Jakob tolv sønner:
23 Leahs sønner var Ruben, Jakobs førstefødte, og Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issakar og Sebulon.
Rakel hadde to sønner: Josef og Benjamin.
25 Sønnene til Rakels tjenestekvinne Bilha var Dan og Naftali.
26 Sønnene til Leahs tjenestekvinne Silpa var Gad og Asjer. Dette var Jakobs sønner, født til ham i Paddan-Aram.
