18 Og Abraham sa til Gud: “Å, måtte Ismael leve under din velsignelse!”
19 Men Gud sa: “Nei, men din kone Sara skal føde deg en sønn, og du skal kalle ham Isak; og jeg vil opprette min pakt med ham som en evig pakt for hans ætt etter ham.
Når det gjelder Ismael, har jeg hørt deg; jeg vil velsigne ham og gjøre ham fruktbar og mangedoble ham meget. Han skal bli far til tolv fyrster, og jeg vil gjøre ham til et stort folk.
