1. Krønikebok 28,11

9 Og du, min sønn Salomo, kjenn din fars Gud,
og tjen ham med et helt hjerte og et villig sinn;
for Herren ransaker alle hjerter, og forstår hver tanke og hensikt.
Hvis du søker ham, vil han la deg finne ham;
men hvis du forlater ham, vil han forkaste deg for alltid.

10 Tenk nå etter, for Herren har valgt deg til å bygge et hus for helligdommen;
vær modig og handle.”

Da ga David sin sønn Salomo planen for templets forhall,
dets bygninger, dets lagerrom, dets øvre rom, dets indre rom, og rommet for nådestolen;

12 og utformingen av alt han hadde forestilt seg,
for forgårdene til Herrens hus, og for alle de omkringliggende rommene,
for lagerrommene til Guds hus og for lagerrommene for de hellige tingene;

13 og angående inndelingene av prestene og levittene,
og oppgavene knyttet til tjenesten i Herrens hus,
og for alle redskapene brukt i tjenesten i Herrens hus;
