DavidAdullamValley of Rephaim

13 Han var med David i Pas-Dammim,
da filistrene var samlet der til kamp,
og der var et stykke mark fullt av bygg;
og folket flyktet for filistrene.

14 Men de tok stand midt på stykket og forsvarte det,
og slo filistrene;
og Herren frelste dem med en stor seier.

På den tiden gikk tre av de tretti høvdingene til David ved klippen,
i hulen Adullam,
mens filistrenes hær var leiret i Refa’im-dalen.

16 David var da i borgen, mens filistrenes garnison var stasjonert i Betlehem.

17 David uttrykte et ønske og sa:
"Å, om noen ville gi meg vann å drikke fra brønnen i Betlehem,
som er ved porten!"
