2 Folket priste alle dem som frivillig valgte å bo i Jerusalem.

3 Dette er lederne av provinsene som bosatte seg i Jerusalem. I byene i Juda bodde hver på sin egen eiendom—israelittene, prestene, levittene, tempeltjenerne og etterkommerne av Salomos tjenere.

Athaia, sønn av Ussia, sønn av Sakarja, sønn av Amarja,
sønn av Sjefatja, sønn av Mahalalel, av slekten Peres;

5 og Ma’aseja, sønn av Baruk, sønn av Kol-Hose, sønn av Hasaja, sønn av Adaia,
sønn av Jojarib, sønn av Sakarja, en etterkommer av Sjelah.

6 Etterkommerne av Peres som bodde i Jerusalem, talte 468 djerve menn.
