Nehemja 10,34

32 Vi påla oss også forpliktelsen å bidra årlig med en tredjedel av en sjekel til tjenesten i vår Guds hus:

33 for skuebrødene, for de regelmessige grødeofrene og brennofferne, for sabbatene, nymånedagene, de fastsatte høytidene, for de hellige ofrene, for syndofrene for å gjøre soning for Israel, og for alle pliktene i vår Guds hus.

På samme måte kastet vi lodd blant prestene, levittene og folket for tilførsel av ved, for å bringe det til vår Guds hus, i henhold til våre familier, til fastsatte tider årlig, for å brenne på alteret til Herren vår Gud, som det er skrevet i loven.

35 Vi tar også på oss ansvaret for å bringe til Herrens hus hvert år førstegrøden av vår jord og førstegrøden av all frukt fra hvert tre.

36 Og å bringe til vår Guds hus de førstefødte av våre sønner og av vårt kveg, som det er skrevet i loven, og de førstefødte av våre hjorder og våre flokker, til prestene som tjener i vår Guds hus.
