13 Han satte ild på Herrens hus, kongepalasset og alle husene i Jerusalem. Hvert stort hus brente han ned.
14 Hele kaldeernes hær, under høvdingen for livvakten, brøt ned alle murene rundt Jerusalem.
Nebuzaradan, høvdingen for livvakten, førte i eksil noen av de fattigste folkene, de som var igjen i byen, desertørene som hadde gått over til kongen av Babylon, og resten av håndverkerne.
16 Men Nebuzaradan lot noen av de fattigste folkene i landet bli igjen for å være vinbønder og bønder.
