Samson

10 Judas menn spurte: "Hvorfor har dere kommet mot oss?" De svarte: "Vi har kommet for å fange Samson, for å gjøre mot ham som han har gjort mot oss."

11 Da gikk tre tusen menn fra Juda ned til hulen i klippen ved Etam og sa til Samson: "Forstår du ikke at filisterne hersker over oss? Hva har du gjort mot oss?" Han svarte: "Jeg har gjort mot dem som de gjorde mot meg."

De sa til ham: "Vi har kommet for å binde deg og overgi deg til filisterne." Samson sa: "Sverg for meg at dere ikke vil drepe meg selv."

13 De svarte: "Vi er enige; vi vil bare binde deg og overgi deg til dem. Vi vil ikke drepe deg." Så bandt de ham med to nye tau og førte ham opp fra klippen.

14 Da han nærmet seg Lehi, kom filisterne ropende for å møte ham. Herrens Ånd kom mektig over ham, og tauene på armene hans ble som svidd lin, og bindingene falt fra hendene hans.
