4 Han utviklet Tadmor i ørkenen og alle forrådsbyene han hadde opprettet i Hamat.

5 Han bygde både Øvre Bet-Horon og Nedre Bet-Horon, som var befestede byer med murer, porter og bommer;

og Ba'alat og alle forrådsbyene som Salomo hadde, og alle byene for hans vogner og byene for hans ryttere, og alt det Salomo ønsket å bygge i Jerusalem, i Libanon, og i hele landet under hans styre.

7 Alle de gjenværende folkene av hetittene, amorittene, perisittene, hevittene og jebusittene, som ikke var av Israel—

8 fra deres etterkommere som var igjen etter dem i landet, som Israels sønner ikke hadde utryddet—Salomo påla dem tvangsarbeid til denne dag.
