¹ Takk Herren, for han er god;
For hans kjærlighet er evig.

² La de som er forløst av Herren si det,
De som han har reddet fra fiendens hånd.

Og samlet fra fjerne land,
Fra øst og fra vest,
Fra nord og fra sør.

⁴ De vandret i ørkenen, et øde område;
De kunne ikke finne en vei til en by hvor de kunne bo.

⁵ De var sultne og tørste;
Deres sjeler ble matte i dem.
