8 Folkene spiste og ble mette, og de samlet opp sju kurver med brødstykker som var til overs.
9 Det var omkring fire tusen mennesker til stede. Etter å ha sendt dem bort,
gikk han om bord i båten med sine disipler og reiste til området Dalmanuta.
11 Fariseerne kom og begynte å stille spørsmål til ham, og søkte et tegn fra himmelen for å utfordre ham.
12 Han sukket dypt i sin ånd og sa: "Hvorfor ber denne generasjonen om et tegn? Sannelig sier jeg dere, det vil ikke bli gitt noe tegn til den."
