51 Tror dere at jeg kom for å bringe fred på jorden? Nei, sier jeg dere, men heller splittelse.

52 Fra nå av vil det være fem i ett hus som er delt, tre mot to og to mot tre.

De vil bli satt mot hverandre: far mot sønn og sønn mot far, mor mot datter og datter mot mor, svigermor mot svigerdatter og svigerdatter mot svigermor.”

54 Han sa også til folkemengdene, “Når dere ser en sky stige opp i vest, sier dere straks, ‘Et regnskyll kommer,’ og det gjør det.
