59 På den åttende dagen kom de for å omskjære barnet, og de ville gi ham navnet etter hans far Sakarja,
60 men hans mor svarte, “Nei! Han skal hete Johannes.”
De sa til henne, “Men ingen av dine slektninger har det navnet.”
62 Så gjorde de tegn til hans far, for å finne ut hva han ønsket å kalle barnet.
63 Han ba om en tavle og skrev til alles forundring, “Hans navn er Johannes.”
