Abimelech

38 Da sa Sebul til ham: "Hvor er din skryt nå, du som sa: 'Hvem er Abimelek at vi skulle tjene ham?' Er dette ikke folket du hånte? Gå ut og kjemp mot dem!"

39 Så gikk Gaal ut i siktemål for lederne i Sikem og kjempet mot Abimelek.

Abimelek forfulgte ham, og han flyktet for ham, og mange falt sårede opp til inngangen til porten.

41 Abimelek ble i Aruma, og Sebul drev Gaal og hans slektninger ut av Sikem.

42 Neste dag gikk folket ut til markene, og dette ble rapportert til Abimelek.
