10 Men mannen ville ikke bli en natt til, så han dro og reiste mot Jebus (som er Jerusalem), med sine to salede esler og sin medhustru.
11 Da de nærmet seg Jebus, var dagen nesten over. Tjeneren sa til sin herre: "La oss gå inn i denne byen til jebusittene og tilbringe natten."
Hans herre svarte: "Vi vil ikke gå inn i en by med utlendinger som ikke er israelitter. Vi vil fortsette til Gibea."
13 Han la til: "Kom, la oss prøve å nå Gibea eller Rama og tilbringe natten der."
14 Så fortsatte de på vei, og solen gikk ned da de nærmet seg Gibea i Benjamin.
