Mercy and compassion

22 Josefs stammer dro også opp mot Betel, og Herren var med dem.

23 De sendte menn for å speide ut Betel (tidligere kalt Luz).

Speiderne så en mann forlate byen og sa til ham: «Vis oss inngangen til byen, så vil vi behandle deg vennlig.»

25 Han viste dem inngangen til byen, og de slo den med sverdet, men sparte mannen og hele hans familie.

26 Mannen dro deretter til hetittenes land, bygde en by, og kalte den Luz, som fortsatt er navnet den dag i dag.
