10 Juda gikk mot kanaaneerne som bodde i Hebron (tidligere kjent som Kirjat-Arba) og beseiret Sjesjai, Ahiman og Talmai.

11 Derfra dro de mot innbyggerne i Debir (tidligere kalt Kirjat-Sefer).

Kaleb erklærte: «Til den mann som angriper og erobrer Kirjat-Sefer, vil jeg gi min datter Aksa til kone.»

13 Otniel, sønn av Kenaz, Kalebs yngre bror, erobret det; så Kaleb ga ham sin datter Aksa til ekte.

14 Da hun kom til Otniel, oppfordret hun ham til å be hennes far om et jorde. Da hun steg av eselet sitt, spurte Kaleb henne: «Hva ønsker du?»
