11 «Så kom det en hungersnød over hele Egypt og Kanaan, som forårsaket stor nød, og våre forfedre kunne ikke finne mat.

12 Da Jakob fikk vite at det var korn i Egypt, sendte han våre forfedre på deres første reise.

På deres andre besøk avslørte Josef sin identitet for sine brødre, og farao fikk kjennskap til Josefs familie.

14 Josef sendte da bud etter sin far Jakob og alle sine slektninger, i alt syttifem.

15 Jakob dro ned til Egypt, hvor han og våre forfedre døde.
