18 Men husk Herren din Gud, for det er Han som gir deg evnen til å skaffe rikdom, for å bekrefte Sin pakt som Han sverget til dine forfedre, slik det er i dag.

19 Hvis du noen gang glemmer Herren din Gud og følger andre guder, tjener og tilber dem, vitner jeg mot deg i dag at du helt sikkert vil gå til grunne.

Som med de nasjonene Herren ødela foran deg, slik vil du gå til grunne, fordi du ikke adlyder stemmen til Herren din Gud.
