45 Dette er vitnesbyrdene, forskriftene og lovene Moses ga dem da de kom ut av Egypt
46 og befant seg i dalen nær Bet-Peor, øst for Jordan, i området til Sihon, amorittenes konge, som regjerte i Hesjbon og ble beseiret av Moses og israelittene da de kom ut av Egypt.
De tok i eie hans land sammen med området til Og, kongen av Basan, de to amorittkongene øst for Jordan.
48 Dette landet strakte seg fra Aroer ved kanten av Arnon-kløften til fjellet Sirion (det vil si Hermon),
