Numbers 4:1
Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
2 “Take a census of the Kohathites among the Levites by their clans and families,
3 men from thirty to fifty years old—everyone who is qualified to serve in the work at the Tent of Meeting.
This was said to Israel at a particular time, so it is wise to read it together with the surrounding text. Do read the surrounding verses too, because the context often says more than a single verse.
