9 Ingen arv kan overføres fra en stamme til en annen, for hver israelittisk stamme skal beholde sin egen arv.”

10 Selofhads døtre handlet som Herren hadde befalt Moses.

Mahla, Tirsa, Hogla, Milka og Noa, Selofhads døtre, giftet seg med sine fettere på farssiden.

12 De giftet seg inn i familiene til etterkommerne av Manasse, Josefs sønn, og deres arv forble innenfor deres fars stamme og familie.

13 Dette er de befalingene og forskriftene Herren ga til israelittene gjennom Moses på Moabs sletter ved Jordan, rett overfor Jeriko.
