37 Rubens sønner gjenoppbygde Hesjbon, Elale og Kirjatajim,

38 samt Nebo og Baal-Meon (deres navn ble endret) og Sibma. De ga nye navn til byene de gjenoppbygde.

Etterkommerne av Makir, sønn av Manasse, dro til Gilead, erobret det, og drev ut amorittene som var der.

40 Derfor ga Moses Gilead til Makir, sønn av Manasse, og han bosatte seg der.

41 Jair, en etterkommer av Manasse, erobret deres bosetninger og kalte dem Havvot-Jair.
