5 Etterkommerne av Ruben, Israels førstefødte, var: fra Hanok, hanokittenes familie; fra Pallu, palluittenes familie;

6 fra Hesron, hesronittenes familie; fra Karmi, karmittenes familie.

Dette var familiene til rubenittene, og de som ble talt, var 43 730.

8 Pallu hadde en sønn, Eliab.

9 Sønnene til Eliab var Nemuel, Datan og Abiram. Dette er de samme Datan og Abiram som ble kalt av menigheten, som satte seg opp mot Moses og Aron i Korahs følge, da de satte seg opp mot Herren.
