55 Sørg for at landet fordeles ved lodd. Hva hver gruppe arver vil være i henhold til navnene på deres forfedres stammer.

56 Arven skal fordeles ved lodd blant de større og mindre gruppene.

Dette var levittene som ble talt etter deres familier: fra Gersjon, gersjonittenes familie; fra Kehat, kehatittenes familie; fra Merari, merarittenes familie.

58 Dette var også levittiske familier: libnittenes familie, hebronittenes familie, mahlittenes familie, musjittenes familie, og korahittenes familie. Kehat var far til Amram.

59 Navnet på Amrams kone var Jokebed, en datter av Levi, som ble født til levittene i Egypt. Til Amram fødte hun Aron, Moses og deres søster Mirjam.
