14 Så tok han Bileam til Zofims mark på toppen av Pisga, hvor han bygde sju altere og ofret en okse og en vær på hvert.

15 Bileam sa til Balak: «Stå her ved ditt offer mens jeg møter Herren der borte.»

Herren møtte Bileam og la et ord i hans munn, og sa: «Vend tilbake til Balak og gi ham denne beskjeden.»

17 Bileam vendte tilbake til Balak, som sto ved sitt offer sammen med Moabs ledere. Balak spurte: «Hva har Herren talt?»

18 Bileam leverte sitt budskap: «Reis deg, Balak, og lytt; hør meg, Sippors sønn.
