17 Da Moses sendte dem for å utforske Kanaans land, instruerte han dem: "Gå opp gjennom Negev og deretter inn i fjellandet.
18 Se hvordan landet er, og om folket som bor der er sterke eller svake, få eller mange.
Hva slags land bor de i? Er det godt eller dårlig? Hvordan er byene? Er de uten murer eller befestede?
20 Og hvordan er jorden? Er den fruktbar eller mager? Er det trær på den eller ikke? Vær modige og ta med noe av frukten fra landet." Nå var det sesongen for de første modne druene.
21 Så dro de opp og utforsket landet fra ørkenen Sin så langt som til Rehob, mot Lebo-Hamat.
